Specifications, product care and maintenance

How do I recharge the battery of a Zafferano cordless lamp?

It can be recharged by contact, by placing the lamp on a charging base (like a cordless phone). The charging base and its cable are supplied with the lamp.

How do I recharge the battery of a PENCIL LED module?

It can be recharged by contact or by using a special cable with a 3.5/1.3 connector. A contact charging base and charger, available as accessories, can be ordered separately from the product using the appropriate code.

Does the lamp need to be completely flat before recharging, or can it be recharged even when it is still emitting light?

You can recharge the lamp while it is still emitting light, but we recommend recharging it when the battery has a residual autonomy of approximately 20-30%: in this way, the charging cycles are always complete. The models in the Sister Light and Pencil collections have control electronics that use a visual signal to indicate when it is time to recharge the product. This function allows for optimised recharging and preserving batteries in the best possible way. The remaining collections are to be recharged when the light emitted is dim or inadequate. Recharging a lamp at 0% or 100% battery power may, in the long term, damage the cells and therefore require premature replacement of the battery pack.

Is there any way of assessing the residual battery charge to determine if it is sufficient for one cycle of use (e.g. the time for a dinner) and to avoid any unnecessary and harmful recharging? Which battery management method do you recommend for this?

The Poldina, Dama, Pina, Poldina XXL, Ofelia, Olivia and Olimpia models do not indicate when it is the correct time for recharging. However, the lamp must be recharged after 6-8 hours of use or when, set at 100% luminous flux, the light fades on its own.The Sister Light and Pencil models have control electronics that also include battery status monitoring, providing a visual indication of when the batteries are running low and when they are completely flat.

If the lamp is always left to recharge (on the base or connected to the cable), will this damage the battery?

We recommend disconnecting the lamp from the power supply when the LED is green, indicating that it is fully charged. However, the lamp can remain connected to the power cable even if the light turns green. When the battery is charged, the power supply is automatically cut off. If the lamp is switched on, the "current coming in through the power cable" powers the light source "directly" without using the batteries.

How long does a recharge last and how long does it take a battery-powered lamp to recharge?

Charging and battery life data can be found in the data sheet downloadable from the www.zafferanoitalia.com/lampesaporter/it/ page for each model.

How long is the battery life?

The standard battery life is approximately 450 recharges. Battery life may be reduced by certain factors such as: ➀ Incorrect recharging mode (the lamp must be recharged when it is flat: about 10% of its residual autonomy); ➁ long periods of standing without being used;➂ When left standing on a live charging base even if the lamp is recharged; ➃When non-original accessories are used for recharging; ➄ When the product is exposed to very high or very low temperatures.

Can the battery be replaced?

Zafferano rechargeable lamps are all provided with a rechargeable and replaceable lithium battery. When the lamps no longer recharge or their autonomy after recharging is much reduced, the batteries must be replaced. To replace the battery, please watch the tutorial on the Zafferano YouTube channel: https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLJj-iX063IS3kuBXB3fwDfutkZ_PufP-7The lamp is protected by a warranty, in accordance with the law; the warranty does not cover the batteries.

Where can I buy a new battery?

Can I buy spare parts for the Poldina lamp?

You can buy a replacement stem and base for Poldina on our e-shop: www.zafferanoeshop.it/it/poldina/1783-spare-part.htmlAt the same time, please send an e-mail to eshop@zafferanoitalia.com, specifying the order number and the 8-digit product code located under the base of the lamp.

How much light does a portable lamp emit?

It depends on the model. Portable lamps emit a light beam ranging from 144-150 lm to 1700 lm. The larger the lamp, the more intense its luminous flux. Data on light emission can be found on the technical data sheet, which can be downloaded from the website page: www.zafferanoitalia.com/lampesaporter/it/ for each model.
